UAW says VW workers at Tennessee plant file for union election
From CNBC:
Volkswagen workers at the Chattanooga, Tennessee plant filed a petition to join the UAW, marking a major milestone in the labor group’s organizing efforts. The plant employs over 4,000 workers eligible to vote for union representation. VW confirmed receiving the petition and stated it would support a democratic vote process. Hourly wages at the plant range from $23.40 to $32.40, lower than UAW-negotiated rates with Detroit automakers. The UAW is targeting 13 nonunion automakers in the U.S. for organizing efforts.
