Alphabet’s Google is set to launch a dedicated page for all its location-sharing services on Android, combining Google Maps, Find My Device, and Personal Safety services for users. This move aims to capitalize on the growing location-based services market, expected to reach $50.85 billion in 2024 and $149.7 billion by 2029, with a CAGR of 24.1%.
In addition to the location-sharing feature, Google introduced new features like “Automatically add linked passes” to Google Wallet on Android and a Sports widget on the Google app. Enhancements to the Google Messages app and Google Contacts were also made to provide a better user experience. These expansions will support Alphabet’s Google Services segment growth, which has led to a 12.9% increase in shares year-to-date compared to the Computer & Technology sector’s 11.1% growth.
Alphabet’s Android offerings continue to evolve with new features and widgets, enhancing the overall user experience on the platform. The company’s efforts in expanding its Google Services segment are expected to drive financial performance, with 2024 revenue projected to grow by 11.7%.
