Cathie Wood’s Ark Venture Fund (NASDAQ: ARKVX) has invested in AI leader OpenAI, known for ChatGPT, Dall-E, and Sora. The $54 million fund focuses on democratizing venture capital access for all investors, currently holding positions in innovative private companies like Epic Games and SpaceX, alongside its new OpenAI investment.

OpenAI, backed by Microsoft Corporation, recently offered employees a chance to sell shares at an $86 billion valuation. Ark’s investment in OpenAI, equaling 4% of its holdings, potentially links to this deal. Brett Winton, Ark’s Chief Futurist, praised OpenAI’s generative AI tool, Sora, for its impressive technology, highlighting the fund’s drive for exposure to innovation.

In addition to OpenAI, Ark’s venture fund boasts a 5% stake in Anthropic, another AI company. With nearly 80% of investments in private firms, Ark continues to pursue cutting-edge technologies and growth opportunities in the evolving AI landscape.
