Chinese stocks fell on Friday as traders worried about shrinking trade and potential impact of overseas interest rate changes. Dollar near five-month high as US Treasury yields rise on stronger-than-expected consumer price data. Data shows China’s March exports and imports lower than expected, creating challenges for economic recovery efforts. Shanghai Composite index closed down 0.49%. Healthcare, financial, consumer staples, and real estate sectors all declined. Hang Seng index fell 2.18% for the week. MSCI’s Asia ex-Japan stock index weaker by 0.99%.
