Chipotle is launching Farmesa Fresh Eatery at Kitchen United’s new Santa Monica location. The spinoff focuses on customizable bowls with a farm-to-table approach.

The Santa Monica location closed as Kitchen United struggled financially, leading Chipotle to abandon plans for a freestanding Farmesa location.

Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol is focusing on improving restaurant efficiency and international expansion, with first-quarter earnings beating expectations.

Kitchen United shifted to software and was bought by SBE founder Sam Nazarian in March to create Everybody Eats after ghost kitchen popularity waned post-pandemic.
