Billy Markus, co-creator of meme cryptocurrency, known as “Shibetoshi Nakamoto,” shared a sarcastic take on the recent crypto market crash. When DOGE fell by over 19%, Markus made a comment triggering support from the DOGE community.

Markus tweeted a screenshot showing BTC and ETH in a major correction, along with DOGE and the S&P 500 sinking into the red. His tweet sarcastically stated, “oh no everything died we are dead,” highlighting his view on the unpredictable nature of crypto trading.

Bitcoin plummeted from $70,000 to $67,490, losing 7% of its value, while Ethereum dropped over 10% from $3,525 to $3,161. Approximately $735 million worth of cryptocurrencies was liquidated in the market within 24 hours.

DOGE crashed by slightly over 19%, hitting $0.1610 before attempting to recover to $0.1712. The crash comes right before the fourth BTC halving scheduled for April 21, where Bitcoin rewards per block will be reduced to 3.125 BTC, leading to expectations of price surges.
