Just a week ago, there was a moderate probability of a cut by September. The 10-year Treasury yield also suggests no near-term rate cut, closing at 4.88% on Friday. Traders are monitoring the spread between the 2-year yield and Fed funds rate for policy insight. Questions remain about the hawkish reaction to last week’s consumer inflation data and the impact of the Iranian missile attack on Israel sparking a wider conflict. Israel is expected to respond to the attack in some way.
