The company aims to rebuild trust with regulators and communities by focusing on safety enhancements. Other players like Waymo and Tesla also continue to advance their self-driving services in different markets.
Waymo currently operates driverless ride-hailing services in multiple cities and has partnered with Uber for food delivery in Arizona. Tesla announced plans to launch its robotaxi utilizing the latest vehicle platform, aiming for profitability for car operators. Cruise, on the other hand, is starting with a small fleet of human-driven vehicles in Phoenix to validate its self-driving systems.
