Millions of Chinese video game players can rejoice as Blizzard’s hit games, including World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, will soon return to China through a renewed publishing deal with NetEase. The agreement will see popular titles from the Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo, and StarCraft series available in the country by the summer.

The revival of this partnership follows a fallout between Blizzard and NetEase in 2023, which led to the suspension of all Blizzard games in China except for Diablo Immortal. After resolving key terms disagreements, the companies are excited to provide exceptional gaming experiences to Chinese players once again.

Blizzard Entertainment expressed gratitude for the support of the Chinese gaming community over the years and is focused on delivering legendary gaming experiences to players in China. Meanwhile, Microsoft, Blizzard’s parent company, struck a deal with NetEase to bring new Chinese titles to Xbox consoles, expanding gaming opportunities globally.

Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion in 2023 further solidifies the company’s commitment to providing diverse gaming options to players worldwide. The collaboration with NetEase will not only bring back beloved Blizzard games to China but also introduce new titles to Xbox consoles, showcasing a dedication to expanding access to quality gaming experiences.
