Forbes releases list of richest people with Bernard Arnault topping at $233 billion

Forbes’ latest list of the world’s richest people reveals a record 2,781 billionaires worth a total of $14.2trn. The top 20 have added $700bn to their wealth in the past year, with Bernard Arnault topping the list at $233bn. Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos follow closely behind in net worth.

Other notable names in the top 10 include Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer, Mukesh Ambani, and Larry Page. Taylor Swift is a new entry with a fortune of $1.1bn. Tax Justice UK urges world leaders to implement wealth taxes on the super-rich to address inequality and climate change.
