OpenAI’s ChatGPT can now be accessed without an account and may soon have a dedicated device developed by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and former Apple design chief Jony Ive. The startup seeking up to US$1 billion in funding could involve OpenAI and its investors.

Details about the ChatGPT device are scarce, but it won’t be a phone. Altman’s involvement in Humane Ai may offer clues about the upcoming OpenAI hardware, which could resemble the Rabbit R1 virtual assistant. The partnership has been in talks since last fall, but a product announcement may still be far off.
