OpenAI released the upgraded GPT-4 Turbo large language model for paid ChatGPT users. The new model features improved capabilities in writing, math, logical reasoning, and coding. It outperformed its predecessor in accuracy across all six question sets in tests conducted by OpenAI. The latest version has access to data created as recently as December 2023.

The latest iteration of GPT-4 Turbo answered 49.1% of questions accurately in a Google-developed dataset called GPQA, representing a nearly 10% improvement over the model’s previous version. The new model also demonstrated improved accuracy in a separate benchmark test involving math questions. OpenAI made several improvements to the model, leading to enhanced performance and response quality.

OpenAI has made gpt-4-turbo-2024-04-09 accessible to users of ChatGPT’s paid Plus, Team, and Enterprise tiers. The Enterprise tier offers cybersecurity controls and faster response times, catering to businesses. Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman hosted events to promote ChatGPT Enterprise, with more than 300 executives from Fortune 500 companies in attendance. The consumer version of ChatGPT is already widely used in the Fortune 500 companies.
