On Wednesday 4/10, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the consumer price index for March, showing a 3.4% year-over-year increase, slightly higher than in February. The core CPI, excluding food and energy prices, is expected to rise by 3.7%. The Federal Open Market Committee kept the federal-funds rate unchanged at 5.25% to 5.50%.

Thursday 4/11, the European Central Bank is anticipated to maintain its key short-term interest rate at 4%, with the next policy move possibly being a rate cut in June.

Friday 4/12 marks the start of first-quarter earnings season, with Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo all set to report results before the opening bell.
