From Nasdaq: 2024-04-12 15:28:10

In 2023, the S&P 500 Index surged by 24.7%, continuing its strong performance into 2024 with an 8% YTD growth. Despite a recent dip, Wells Fargo remains optimistic and raised its year-end target to 5,535 for the index. However, stocks like Boeing and Tesla have struggled, with sharp declines this year.

Tesla, with a market cap of $556 billion, has been a leader in the EV market but is facing challenges in 2024. With a YTD loss of 31%, Tesla’s stock is significantly underperforming the S&P 500 Index. Analysts have grown cautious, with a consensus “Hold” rating and a modest upside potential for the stock at current levels.

Boeing, valued at $105.7 billion, is facing a tough year with a 34.5% YTD drop. Despite ongoing challenges, including a recent incident involving a 737 Max 9, analysts are optimistic about Boeing’s future. With a consensus “Moderate Buy” rating and substantial upside potential from current levels, analysts seem to prefer Boeing over Tesla.
