Amazon is introducing nearly 50 heavy-duty electric trucks in Southern California to travel over one million miles annually emission-free. The trucks will be used for first-mile, second-mile, and last-mile operations across the state. The vehicles, manufactured by Volvo VNR, will feature advanced safety technologies.

Udit Madan, Amazon’s vice president of Worldwide Operations, highlighted the challenge of decarbonizing heavy-duty trucking and emphasized the importance of deploying electric vehicles to reduce emissions.
