Argentine President Javier Milei accepted the resignation of cabinet chief Nicolas Posse in the first cabinet shakeup of his administration. Posse will be replaced by Interior Minister Guillermo Francos. The reshuffle comes as Milei’s economic reform bill faces obstacles in Congress and the market rally shows signs of stalling.

Posse played a key role in debt talks with the IMF. Milei’s reforms include privatizing state companies and implementing austerity measures to address the economic crisis with close to 300% inflation. The outgoing cabinet chief’s next role will be announced soon.
