Berkshire Hathaway shareholders rejected six environmental and social policy proposals at Warren Buffett’s conglomerate, all opposed by Buffett and the board. Shareholders voted against disclosing more on climate change efforts and promoting diversity and equity. They also said no to an environment-related proposal and reporting on business dependence on China.

Despite overwhelming shareholder rejections, the proposals did not pass due to Buffett’s 31% voting stake in Berkshire. The board was also reelected by shareholders at the annual meeting. Berkshire had invested in Chinese electric car company BYD in 2008, but started reducing its stake in 2022.
