Bitfinex CTO Paolo Ardoino stated that the hacking group claiming to have stolen 120,000 Bitcoins did not ask for a ransom, casting doubt on their claims. The group had said they stole the Bitcoins in 2016, but Ardoino could not find any evidence of this.
