Spirit AeroSystems, a major aerospace supplier, is laying off up to 450 workers due to slower delivery rates on Boeing 737 MAX planes, impacting its Wichita facility with over 12,600 employees. The company reported a quarterly loss of $616.7 million and is in talks to be acquired by Boeing, its biggest commercial airplane customer. Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun expects a deal to be reached in the second quarter.
