China stocks closed lower on Friday due to strong US economic data and military drills near Taiwan. The Shanghai Composite index was down 0.88%, while the blue-chip CSI300 index fell 1.11%. Hang Seng index dropped 1.38% for the week. Hong Kong shares of Alibaba slipped 0.6%. Asia ex-Japan stock index weakened by 0.9%.
