In midday trading on Friday, the Technology & Communications sector is leading with a 1.2% increase. Apple Inc (AAPL) and Arista Networks Inc (ANET) are top performers, up 7.0% and 5.7% respectively. XLK ETF is up 2.9% on the day, with AAPL down 3.74% and ANET up 17.47% year-to-date.

The Materials sector is also up 1.2%, with Builders FirstSource Inc. (BLDR) and Steel Dynamics Inc. (STLD) gaining 4.9% and 3.1%. XLB ETF is up 1.1% on the day, BLDR up 18.62% year-to-date, and STLD up 14.60%.

S&P 500 components show nine sectors up on Friday afternoon, with Technology & Communications and Materials leading the way at +1.2%.
