Japan stocks close lower, Nikkei 225 down 0.10% with technology and healthcare sector losses.

Japan stocks closed lower on Monday, with losses in technology and healthcare sectors. The Nikkei declined by 0.10%. Top performers were Kansai Electric Power Co Inc, Sumitomo Corp., and J.Front Retailing Co., Ltd. Worst performers were Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd, CyberAgent Inc, and Mazda Motor Corp.
Kansai Electric Power Co Inc rose to 5-year highs, up 4.98%, while Sumitomo Corp. reached all-time highs, gaining 4.37%. The Nikkei Volatility Index was down 3.63%.
In commodities, crude oil for June delivery rose by 0.67% to $78.63 a barrel. Brent oil for July delivery increased by 0.61% to $83.47 a barrel. June Gold Futures rose by 0.58% to $2,322.10 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.55% at 153.82, and EUR/JPY rose by 0.51% to 165.51. The US Dollar Index Futures increased by 0.12% to 105.04.
