Intrinsic, a robotics company at Alphabet, has integrated NVIDIA AI and Isaac platform technologies to advance autonomous robotic manipulation. At the Automate trade show, Intrinsic highlights new capabilities in robotic grasping and industrial scalability with NVIDIA Isaac Manipulator foundation models. The collaboration aims to revolutionize industrial automation with AI. Wendy Tan White, CEO of Intrinsic, emphasizes the impact of foundation models in robot perception and decision-making.
Grasping has been a challenging area for robotics due to programming complexities and scalability issues. Using NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Omniverse, Intrinsic created synthetic data for vacuum grasping in collaboration with Trumpf Machine Tools. The Flowstate developer environment enables visualizing processes and motion planning. The collaboration with NVIDIA aims to enhance robotic arms with modular AI capabilities for a variety of automation tasks.
NVIDIA and Intrinsic plan to introduce advanced dexterity and modular AI capabilities for robotic arms by leveraging foundation models and GPU-accelerated libraries. The goal is to accelerate the development of new robotics and automation tasks. Demonstrations of their work will be presented at Automate by NVIDIA Senior Research Scientist Adithya Murali and Intrinsic Chief Science Officer Torsten Kroeger on May 7. Join their speaking sessions at the event.
