Oil prices little changed as markets look to OPEC+ meeting

Oil prices held steady in early Asian trading as markets awaited an OPEC+ meeting on June 2 to discuss maintaining voluntary output cuts for the rest of the year. Brent crude inched up to $82.23 a barrel, while WTI rose to $77.85. Public holidays in the U.S. and UK kept trading thin. OPEC+ is expected to extend output cuts of 2.2 million bpd into the second half of the year, equivalent to 6% of global oil demand. Analysts are monitoring gasoline usage and U.S. PCE index for interest rate signals. Last week, Brent dropped 2% and WTI lost nearly 3% after Fed meeting minutes were released.
