Ringgit strengthens against US dollar after Fed keeps rates unchanged

The ringgit gained ground following the US Federal Reserve’s decision to keep interest rates unchanged. The local currency closed at 4.1250/1300 against the US dollar, up from Wednesday’s 4.1330/1360. The decision had a positive impact on the Malaysian stock market, with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rising 1.23 points to 1,532.09.
