Asian markets saw mixed results, with most benchmarks climbing after U.S. stocks hit record highs. Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 fell 0.6% due to a rise in trade deficit, while Hang Seng in Hong Kong gained 0.4%. Markets in South Korea, Australia, and Taiwan also saw positive movements. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq set new highs, boosted by strong earnings reports. Macy’s and Lam Research performed well, while Trump Media saw a drop after reporting a net loss. Lowe’s fell despite better-than-expected results. Rates for mortgages and credit cards have been on the rise due to inflation concerns. NVIDIA and Target are expected to reveal their latest results. Benchmark U.S. crude and Brent crude declined in trading, while the U.S. dollar edged up against the Japanese yen and remained stable against the euro.
