ChatGPT Plus added browser extension-like Plugins to enhance the chatbot’s capabilities, which are now discontinued. OpenAI launched GPTs as a replacement, allowing users to customize their own AI tools without coding knowledge. GPTs offer various features like logo creation, image generation, and more, but users need a ChatGPT Plus account to access them.

GPTs are personalized versions of ChatGPT, with GPT LLMs (eg. GPT-3.5, GPT-4) powering various AI programs. The GPT builder creates customized GPTs based on user preferences without requiring coding skills. OpenAI discontinued Plugins in favor of GPTs, which can be shared on the GPT Store for public use.

GPTs replace Plugins but offer a more customizable experience, with users able to create and share their AI tools on the GPT Store. While GPTs offer diverse functionalities like a language teacher or wine sommelier, users should be cautious of inaccuracies as AI models can generate incorrect information. Users can browse the GPT Store for pre-existing tools or create their custom GPTs.
