Amazon adds $1.4 billion to Housing Equity Fund, exceeding affordable housing goal

Amazon has committed an additional $1.4 billion to its Housing Equity Fund, totaling over $3.6 billion for 35,000 affordable homes in the Puget Sound region, Arlington, and Nashville. Originally launched in 2021 with $2 billion, the fund has already surpassed its goal of creating and preserving 20,000 affordable homes, reaching over 21,000 homes. The fund targets households earning 30% to 80% of the area median income, including essential workers struggling with rising rents.
