Apple expands self service repair program to Europe, including U.K. and Germany, to extend product lifespan

Apple has expanded its self service repair program, Apple Diagnostics for Self Service Repair, to 32 European countries, including the U.K. and Germany. The program now supports iPhone, Mac, and Studio Display models in 33 countries and 24 languages, aiming to extend the lifespan of Apple products.

The program allows users to test functionality and performance of their Apple products and detect parts that may need repair. Apple emphasizes the importance of designing long-lasting products and providing safe and affordable repair options for customers and the planet. The program now includes support for MacBook Air models powered by M3.

Launched in April 2022, the Self Service Repair program gives individuals with experience in repairing electronic devices access to manuals, genuine Apple parts, and tools used at Apple Store locations. Customers can access Apple Diagnostics on a separate device to check the status and performance of their products and receive guidance on necessary repairs.

Apple is set to launch the Self Service Repair program in Canada in 2025, expanding its reach to new markets. The company remains committed to promoting sustainable repair practices and empowering customers to take control of product maintenance and repair.
