Vimal Singh Rathore, founder and CEO of Bengaluru-based startup SuperKalam, draws inspiration from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s online presence. SuperKalam utilizes OpenAI’s AI models to create personalized learning experiences for UPSC exam candidates. The startup collaborated with OpenAI in the early phase, gaining access to GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 models.

Rathore met Altman in India at an event with developers at IIIT-Delhi. A video of another event with Altman at the Y Combinator alumni meet was later shared. Co-founded in July 2023 by Rathore and Aseem Gupta, SuperKalam is backed by Y Combinator, Google for Startups, and other notable investors.
