ForFarmers strengthens its position in residual streams by acquiring Van Triest Veevoeders. The acquisition includes trading activities, storage facilities, and transportation assets. Van Triest, a family-owned company founded in 1959, specializes in trading residual products with a network of suppliers and customers. They handle about 1 million tons of residual streams annually and serve 3,500 farmers in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. The merger with Van Triest aligns with ForFarmers’ commitment to sustainability and the responsible production of dairy, meat, and eggs.

ForFarmers, through its CirQlar division, has been active in providing and utilizing residual streams for some time. The acquisition of Van Triest complements ForFarmers’ existing operations and enhances collaboration with suppliers to further sustainable practices in the food chain. The transaction, subject to regulatory approval, is expected to be completed in the fall of 2024. Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed. CEO Pieter Wolleswinkel looks forward to the synergy with Van Triest, emphasizing the continued focus on sustainability in the food chain.

Hein van Triest, director and owner of Van Triest, highlights the shared values of customer focus and employee satisfaction with ForFarmers, leading to the decision to integrate the family business into the larger organization. The acquisition includes the trading activities, transportation assets, and storage facilities of Van Triest, subject to approval from the Dutch Authority for Consumers & Markets. The deal is expected to be finalized in the fall of 2024, with the existing management team of Van Triest remaining involved post-acquisition for a smooth transition.
