Leopold Aschenbrenner disclosed that he was fired from OpenAI earlier this year for sending a memo warning about Chinese Communist Party potentially stealing key algorithmic secrets. HR deemed the memo racist and unconstructive, questioning Aschenbrenner’s loyalty. OpenAI disputes his characterization of the company’s work. Aschenbrenner claims he was terminated for sharing confidential information.
