Xreal has launched a new Beam Pro mobile device that allows users to capture spatial video and 3D images, connecting to Google Play Store apps in augmented reality. The device, priced at $199, connects to AR glasses and can function as a virtual mouse for gaming, movie streaming, and social media.

Xreal, with a focus on AR glasses, utilizes Nvidia CloudXR technology and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform in its products. The company holds the largest market share in global AR headsets in 2023, as per IDC Research. With models priced between $200 to $400, Xreal provides affordable options compared to Apple’s Vision Pro priced at $3,500.

Founder and CEO Chi Xu revealed Xreal has sold nearly 400,000 AR glasses since its 2017 launch, with an average weekly usage of around 4 hours. He anticipates tech glasses evolving in various directions, catering to different preferences in headset experiences. The Xreal Beam Pro is set to support 5G networks, enhancing cloud gaming opportunities.

As Xreal explores collaborations with cloud gaming companies and aims for broader non-gaming applications, the company’s strategy is to gradually transition users from traditional smartphone technology to a more immersive 3D space. Xu believes AR glasses offer a unique opportunity to enhance the gaming and multimedia experience with a large virtual screen, especially with the growing potential of cloud gaming.
