Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang praised OpenAI cofounder Ilya Sutskever for pioneering deep machine learning. Sutskever left OpenAI in May after an unsuccessful attempt to oust Sam Altman. He announced the creation of a new AI project called “Safe Superintelligence Inc.” His prior work was instrumental in the “big bang of deep learning.”

Sutskever, along with renowned computer scientists, played a crucial role in the development of the CNN program AlexNet using Nvidia GPUs. This led to a significant breakthrough in 2012 by recognizing over a million high-resolution images, marking the beginning of the AI revolution. AlexNet’s success in the ImageNet competition was a turning point for AI research.

Despite leaving OpenAI due to internal conflicts, Sutskever has pledged to focus on building a safe superintelligence through his new venture, Super Safeintelligence Inc. The lab aims to create innovative AI solutions dedicated to advancing the field of artificial intelligence.

Following his departure from OpenAI, Sutskever announced the establishment of a new research lab, Super Safeintelligence Inc., focused on developing safe superintelligence. This venture reflects his ongoing commitment to enhancing AI capabilities in a secure and responsible manner.
