Nvidia Hits $3 Trln Market Cap, Overtakes Apple

Nvidia surpasses $3 trillion in valuation, overtaking Apple to become 2nd most valuable US company. The AI chipmaker’s stock is on the rise, increasing by 1.4% in pre-market trading, currently valued at $3.012 trillion.

Apple now valued at $3.003 trillion, while Microsoft holds top spot at $3.151 trillion. Nvidia shares surged after announcing plans to launch new AI chips, including Blackwell Ultra in 2025 and Rubin in 2026.

Nvidia’s new AI chips aim to revolutionize industries, with Rubin platform featuring new GPUs and central processor ‘Vera’. Their previous AI super chip, Blackwell GPU, was launched in March and promises tasks 30 times faster than its predecessor.

Blackwell GPU model set to ship in 2024, succeeding NVIDIA Hopper architecture. Nvidia plans to release new AI chip technology annually, with CEO Jensen Huang declaring the start of the next Industrial Revolution at a recent tech expo in Taiwan.
