The US stock market closed with mixed results on Thursday, with the S&P 500 slipping 0.3% and the Nasdaq Composite declining 0.8%, while the Dow Jones rose 0.8%. Nvidia fell 3.5% despite recent gains, and Kroger shares dropped 3%. Trump Media & Technology Group saw a 14.5% decrease in share value. Bond market yields increased slightly, and economic data showed a cooling job market and declining single-family homebuilding in May. Wall Street hopes for a slowdown in economic growth to ease inflation and encourage a Federal Reserve interest rate cut later this year.
