OpenAI purchased Rockset, an enterprise analytics business, to enhance its retrieval infrastructure, a move that marks OpenAI’s first technology and team merger. Rockset has raised $105 million and will assist OpenAI in solving database problems for AI applications. This acquisition aims to improve real-time data processing and AI model response times. Former Meta developers launched Rockset for real-time search and analytics databases. OpenAI promotes products like ChatGPT Enterprise to compete with Google and Anthropic. OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever launched Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI) to focus on AI safety and capabilities after leaving OpenAI due to AI safety concerns. SSI aims to promote safe superintelligence while enhancing AI capabilities. SSI operates for-profit to avoid short-term commercial pressures and plans to address safety and capability concerns with innovative engineering and science. SSI has offices in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv and seeks technological talent.
