OpenAI acquires Rockset to enhance enterprise AI capabilities

OpenAI has acquired Rockset, known for real-time search and data analytics tools. Rockset’s team will join OpenAI, and existing customers will transition from Rockset’s platform gradually. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. Rockset raised $117.5 million from investors and had customers like Meta and JetBlue. OpenAI aims to enhance its products with Rockset’s technology, allowing companies to better leverage their data and access real-time information. The acquisition aligns with OpenAI’s strategy of investing in enterprise sales and technology. OpenAI’s revenue is projected to exceed $3.4 billion this year, with 600,000 users of its ChatGPT platform. Rockset is the second public acquisition for OpenAI, following Global Illumination, a startup focusing on AI creative tools.
