OpenAI has announced a delay in launching its next-gen Voice Mode, aiming for a fall release for ChatGPT Plus users due to the need to address safety issues. Voice Mode is part of the new GPT-4o model, offering a more human-like conversational experience with features like singing and storytelling.

The Voice Mode promises to bring more emotional and non-verbal responses, advancing towards natural conversations with AI. OpenAI also plans to introduce video and screen-sharing capabilities for ChatGPT, allowing users to share screens and receive help with tasks.

OpenAI faced setbacks after removing the “Sky” voice from its existing voice feature following complaints of unauthorized use of Scarlett Johansson’s voice. The company is focused on improving safety and aims to provide updates on new features, such as video sharing, soon.
