Kokotajlo refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement and lost $1.7 million in vested equity. CEO Sam Altman apologized for the incident. OpenAI employees have raised concerns about the dangers of AI technology, prompting calls for a “Right to Warn” pledge to allow employees to voice safety concerns without retaliation. This lack of oversight in AI development highlights the need for more effective regulations and protections for whistleblowers in the tech industry.
