Qatar Airways is close to making a decision on a large widebody jet order split between Boeing and Airbus, potentially ordering around 200 jets including A350s and Boeing 777X models. The decision could come as soon as the Farnborough Air Show in late July. Airbus and Boeing declined to comment.
In March, reports emerged that Qatar Airways was considering ordering 100 to 150 widebody jets from Boeing and Airbus. Major airlines are aiming to add fuel-efficient jets to their fleets to manage costs and meet the growing demand for international travel.
