Samsung Electronics chairman met with Meta, Qualcomm, and Amazon to discuss cooperation in AI, cloud services, and chips. Topics included memory chips for Amazon’s data centers and chip contract manufacturing for Qualcomm’s mobile processors. Samsung plans a strategic meeting in June based on these discussions as Lee is in the U.S. for two weeks. Samsung’s chips have lost ground compared to competitors, prompting a call for unity to overcome challenges. Samsung’s high-end smartphones use Qualcomm’s processors and the firms are expanding their partnership to AI-enabled PCs. Meta is a Samsung chip client and has collaborated with Samsung on VR headsets and foldable smartphones.
