A J.D. Power study found that Tesla’s quality is on par with legacy automakers, with 266 problems reported per 100 vehicles. Tesla previously outperformed but now lags due to negative customer response to removing traditional controls. Electric vehicles have more issues than gas-powered ones, with plug-ins averaging 266 problems compared to 180. Customers faced difficulties with smartphone integration and automatic braking features.
