Three British opinion polls released over the weekend painted a grim picture for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s Conservative Party, with Labour holding a significant lead. Market research company Savanta found Labour at 46% and Conservatives at 21%, while a Survation poll predicted Labour winning 456 seats and Conservatives only 72. A separate poll by Opinium showed similar results, with Labour at 40%, Conservatives at 23%, and Reform UK at 14%. The polls come just over halfway through the election campaign, with voting set for July 4. Chris Hopkins of Savanta warned of “electoral extinction” for the Conservatives.
