Warren Buffett announced he has around $600 million in personal wealth outside of his Berkshire Hathaway stock, which represents 99.5% of his net worth. He donated $5.3 billion worth of shares to charity. Despite owning $127 billion in Berkshire A shares, Buffett likely keeps most of his remaining wealth in his private portfolio of stocks and bonds. ProPublica reported Buffett privately owned at least $80 million in three stocks in the past. Buffett’s hints suggest his private portfolio accounts for the bulk of his non-Berkshire wealth, allowing him to only collect a $100,000 salary from Berkshire each year.
