Amazon Achieves 100% Renewable Energy Goal Seven Years Early

Amazon has surpassed its 100 percent renewable energy goal for 2023, originally set for 2030. The company’s sustainability report highlights investments in over 500 solar and wind projects globally. This effort has resulted in a 3 percent reduction in Amazon’s carbon footprint and a 13 percent decrease in carbon intensity.
Furthermore, Amazon has launched the Amazon Sustainability Exchange to assist other companies in achieving net zero emissions. The company is also rolling out more than 24,000 electric vehicles worldwide to improve delivery efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. Chief Sustainability Officer Kara Hurst emphasizes the continuous commitment to decarbonizing operations and investing in various clean energy sources.
