Apple Intelligence launch delayed to October, missing some features; full rollout extended to 2025

Apple has decided to delay the launch of Apple Intelligence, introducing the feature through software updates in October instead of the initial September launch. Plans to allow iPhone developers to test certain components during a summer beta for iOS 18 have also been postponed to the upcoming iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 betas.

The delay is attributed to concerns about the stability of features, leading to the exclusion of some advanced Siri capabilities in the delayed release. The complete rollout of Apple Intelligence is now extended to 2025, with generative AI used to produce content on demand and tools for summarizing web pages and voice notes.

This decision comes after Apple postponed three new AI features due to recent tech regulations in the European Union, which require companies to ensure compatibility with competing products and services. Apple Intelligence is expected to enhance notification prioritization, provide iPhone Mirroring on macOS Sequoia, and feature an improved Siri for users.
