From Nasdaq.: 2024-07-12 11:28:00
Comtech Telecommunications completed the installation of the NG9-1-1 system in Saskatchewan, Canada, in collaboration with SaskTel. This is part of their nationwide initiative to deploy NG9-1-1 systems across Canada. The system supports text, video, data, and voice calls, with improved reliability and location accuracy.
The Canadian government mandated the transition to NG9-1-1 services by March 2025, recognizing the limitations of traditional 9-1-1 services. Comtech is at the forefront of this initiative, having implemented its NG9-1-1 solution in Strathcona County, Alberta, in October 2023. The recent completion in Saskatchewan sets a precedent for other regions.
Comtech carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) and aims to expand its NG9-1-1 call routing and handling solutions. Other key industry players include NVIDIA Corporation, Motorola Solutions Inc., and Silicon Motion Technology Corporation, with Zacks Ranks #1 (Strong Buy) and #2 (Buy) respectively. These companies offer innovative technologies in AI, government services, and semiconductor solutions.
