Shares of Intel surged 6.2% in early trading, making it the top-performing Dow Jones component, while Apple fell 2.0%. Year to date, Intel has lost 27.4%, while Apple has gained 19.5%. Amazon.com dropped 1.9%, and UnitedHealth Group rose 3.1%. Overall, mixed performances were seen among Dow components.
