Borregaard reported operating revenues of NOK 1,949 million in the 2nd quarter of 2024, with EBITDA at NOK 510 million. The result in BioSolutions increased, while BioMaterials saw a lower result compared to the same quarter last year. Fine Chemicals delivered a strong result slightly below last year’s quarter.

The strong result in BioSolutions was driven by an improved product mix and reduced energy costs. BioMaterials’ result was impacted by lower sales prices, higher wood costs, and increased operating expenses. Fine Chemicals saw a solid result with high deliveries and stable prices for bioethanol.

Profit before tax was NOK 322 million, with earnings per share at NOK 2.45. President and CEO Per A. Sørlie mentioned being pleased with the strong performance in BioSolutions and a solid result for the Group.
